Q: How to use this tool?
A:
- Remove the carrier from the axle assembly by unscrewing the bolts. Take note that there are shims in this section, so be careful not to damage them.
- On both sides, take out the old inner seals. The tubes should then be cleaned of any dirt.
- Put the new seal on the puck. Then place the seal and the tool in the differential and tighten the nut until the seal is in place.
- Install the seal on the other side by repeating the previous steps.

Get this tool if you're doing your front axle seals. It took a little time to line up the seals before starting to tighten the seal tool, but it was done in minutes and they were absolutely tight.
This thing was so handy for installing new seals in my Dana 44 and soon my Dana 60. It pushed them in perfectly straight, have great control, and can feel the deal get pushed into its right place - firmly against the housing.
The "foot" centers in the seal chamfer, works quick and easy. Pressing the second seal will set the depth on the first one, second seal depth is by eye.
This made replacing the seals in my Jeep Dana44 front axle an easy. The appropriate tool for the task, and it's well worth the money to get it done right the first time.
